Enter a start date and a number of working days and this tool tells you the calendar date you land on, counting forward or backward. It skips Saturdays, Sundays, and US federal holidays on their observed dates, and you can add your own closures. Use it for payment terms (net 10 business days), shipping and delivery promises, HR notice periods, contract review windows, and any deadline written in working days rather than calendar days. Every skipped day is listed so you can show your work.
Starting from the day after the start date (or the day before when subtracting), the calculator steps one calendar day at a time. Each day that is not a weekend and not in the holiday list counts toward the total; every other day is recorded as skipped with its reason. Federal holidays are generated per year from the statutory rules, with Saturday holidays observed on Friday and Sunday holidays on Monday. The start date itself is never counted, which is the convention used by Excel's WORKDAY function and by most payment-terms language.
No. Like Excel's WORKDAY, counting begins with the first business day after (or before) the start date. If the start date is a Saturday, adding one business day gives the following Monday, not the Saturday itself. Subtract one from your count if your contract counts the start date as day one.
Counting still starts from the next (or previous) business day, so the answer is the same as if you had started on the last business day before it. The table lists the weekend and holiday dates that were passed over on the way to the result.
